Today, I’m thankful for: challenges, tests, and trials.
This may seem like an odd category for gratitude. But according to the Bible, there are benefits for the believer in suffering:
Endurance (Romans 5:3)
Comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
Grace (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Steadfastness (James 1:2-3)
Tested Faith (1 Peter 1:6-7)
Restoration (1 Peter 5:10)
Heir and Future Glory
“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” -Romans 8:16-18 (ESV)
Did you take the Thanksgiving Challenge?
It’s the last day… what’s on your thankful list today?
A rough day doesn’t mean God is less sovereign. He’s still in control.
